A proposed class action lawsuit alleging defective clutch systems in certain Dodge Dart vehicles is settling, according to an October 4, 2022, court order. The order vacates all dates and deadlines in light of the Parties’ Notice of Settlement and Joint Motion to Stay or Vacate, filed on October 3, 2022. That Notice and Joint Motion noted that at a September 2022 Settlement Conference, the parties reached an agreement in principle to resolve this matter, which will be memorialized in a written settlement agreement to be filed with the Court for approval.

As previously discussed by US Auto Law in December 2020, the proposed class action alleged a defective clutch system in certain Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with a Fiat C635 manual transmission.

The Court has ordered that a Motion for Preliminary Approval of Settlement be filed by January 3, 2023.

The case is Carlos Victorino, et al. v. FCA US LLC, case number 3:16-cv-01617-GPC(JLB), in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
